We offer a variety of classes for the beginner to the expert. Whether you want to tackle a new skill or work on a project with a group, join our community of knitters!

BEGINNER KNITTING

INTRODUCTORY WEAVING

Become a weaver! This is a wonderful class to brush up on old skills or learn the basics. Using a small table loom and worsted weight yarn, we will create a beautiful scarf from start to finish.

CONTINENTAL KNITTING

Increase knitting speed, bolster efficiency and reduce hand strain as you conquer the European style of knitting for your best stitching yet.
SEQUENCES

Monday, August 20
5:30-7:30 pm

Sequence knitting plays with knits and purls in a repetitive pattern. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes very rhythmic and relaxing. This shawl is a shop favorite from VersaciKnits.

JANE FROST HAT
Sunday, September 9
Noon – 2 pm

Elevate your crochet by learning cables. By the end of the project you will understand the structure of crochet cables and  know how to work front and post stitches with confidence.  Not sure what that means – come to class!  Crocheters should be comfortable with basic stitches ahead of class.

FIDDLEHEAD MITTS
Thursdays, September 6 & 20 and October 4
5 – 7 pm
These delightful mittens have been a favorite at TMP so we are running the workshop again!  Learn the I-cord cast on, stranded knitting, following a chart, increasing for thumb gusset and more! Knitters should be comfortable knitting in the round on DPN, magic loop or small circular needles.

SOCKS!

1:30-3:30 pm

For first time sock knitters. Learn the ins and outs of sock knitting – from the cuff, through the heel, to the toe.  Learn how to knit in the round on 2 circular needles or small double pointed needles.

TOP-DOWN SWEATER CLASS

5:30-7:30 pm

Okay knitters, ready to tackle your first sweater? Never knit a garment in 1 piece? This class guides you through the wonderful pattern “Flax” by TincanKnit,  Learn the foundations of seamless sweater knitting and see how easy it is! This pattern contains a few simple details that elevate the style.

PUTNEY MITTENS
Sunday, September 16
3 – 5 pm

These whimsical mittens by Kristin Nicholas are so much fun! Practice color work, reading a chart and embroidering as you go!

ALL THE ANGLES
Monday, September 24
10 am – Noon

Stephen West is known for his outrageous patterns and photographs. He uses bright colors, geometric shapes and simple stitch patterns in his designs. This interesting shawl is one of his simpler patterns, so is a great accessory to make.

WATER HAT

Tuesday, September 25
5:30-7:30 pm

Whether you are trying cables for the first time or honing your skills, this project includes a variety of cables stitches to practice. Worked from a chart, it’s a great project!  100% of the proceeds of this pattern go towards an 11 year old girl in Flint, MI who is fighting to bring clean water to her community and children across the world. Because knitting feels even better when it’s for a good cause!

A true sign that Autumn is on the horizon. These adorable pumpkins are super easy and fun to make for all levels of needle felters!

INTRO TO CROCHET

The first installment of our crochet classes for beginners. Learn the foundations of crochet in a simple scarf. You’ll be hooked!

All workshops are $25 PER 2- HOUR CLASS unless stated otherwise. Materials are not included.
