Knit with these Italian Linens

Quince & Co. is one of our favorite suppliers from Maine.  They create wonderful yarns in stunning
palates, and accompany these fibers with stunning patterns. We’re overwhelmed with inspiration from their newest pattern collections using linens.  These pieces are perfect for warm weather – because Summer is here in RI!

Kestrel Linen
Kestrel is a new take on a simple linen yarn.
The same Belgium-grown organic linen that is used in Sparrow is spun in a ribbon structure. Kestrel knits up quickly at 3½ to 4 stitches to the inch. Its flat surface adds a slight texture to simple knit and purl stitches. The best thing about it is its incredible drape. Like all things linen, woven or knitted, Kestrel only gets better as you wash and wear it.

Clean lines and a simple structure frame the eyelet ladders in this tee. We love the back and sleeve details, and the subtle split hem in this piece.

Three herringbone bands in loosely gradating colors are the feature on this otherwise simple tee, with a flattering scoop neck and set-in sleeves. Our gorgeous Kestrel palette provides so much potential for color play here!

The unfussy shape of this tank puts all of the focus on the elongated eyelet diamond motif throughout the front of the piece. The motif is loosely inspired by classic argyle patterns

We love this tee, worked from the top down beginning with sideways-knit shoulder panels. The fun construction and pretty knit-purl details make this piece a fun knit.

This ample shawl is knit on the bias with a simple and stunning slipped-stitch motif. coupled with meditative garter stitch. It is large enough to wrap around several times, for chilly summer evenings.

Sparrow Linen

Sparrow is a plain little yarn, beautiful in its simplicity. Its clean, smooth hand is crisp as you knit it. But after washing and wearing it becomes handkerchief soft. Spun in Italy from organic linen grown in Belgium.

This slinky pullover is so attractive in its deep v-neck, pretty raglan detail, and raw edges at cuffs and hem. The fantastic drape that Sparrow offers gives this piece swing and elegance for effortless style.

We love Leila’s striped raglan, with its high, wide ballet neck and fitted yoke; its cool striping pattern; its raw-edge sleeve cuffs and hem. This sample is monochromatic, but Sparrow’s palette offers so much in the way of making it your own.

The charm in this tee lies in the simple and irresistible elements: allover garter stitch, short rows, and just a little bit of contrasted color at the shoulders, cuffs, and one-row trim at the neck. The short rows inform the shape of the deep v-neck on both front and back.

Shai combines an antique lace chevron motif with an open, alternating butterfly stitch to create the adventurous front panel of this tunic. With a wide boat neck, split hem, subtle A-line shaping, and the barest hint of color blocking, this tunic is destined to be a statement piece

This duster has such an impact and looks amazing on every height, whether the low back hem reaches the high calf, or goes all the way down to your shoes. The deep scoop neck and slim, bracelet length sleeves are so flattering, and Sparrow’s amazing drape is showcased in the front and back color block panels.
